CMC

CMC becomes water-soluble by replacing Cellulose's Hydroxy Group (-OH) with Hydrophilic Sodium Carboxymethyl Group (-CH2COONa), and shows hygroscopicity like general water-soluble polymer. CMC is chemically very stable and harmless / non-toxic to the human body. It is used in various applications such as diluent, emulsifying dispersant, adhesive, protective colloid agent, and suspension. CMC is widely used in many different industries as a suitable compound for food additives standards, Korean pharmacopoeia standards, pisciculture additives standards.

How to use

  • - 1. Method of adding small amounts of CMC while stirring
  • -> After filling 70 ~ 80% of the whole container with water, slowly pour CMC into the water and stir thoroughly. Pour water inside the container and over the solution without forming lumps.
  • - 2. Method of dissolving in organic solvent
  • -> When CMC is used together with an organic solvent, CMC is dispersed in an organic solvent and mixed with water; and the solution is continuously dissolved while stirred.
  • - 3. Method to mix and dissolve CMC in advance with other powder raw materials
  • -> When used with other powder materials (inorganic powder raw material) to prevent the formation of CMC lump, CMC and other powder materials are homogeneously mixed in advance, stirred in water, and slowly dissolved.

Usage

  • - Toothpaste, detergent, ceramics, food, paint, medicine, stationery, building materials
